Ally McCoist destroys Jamie O'Hara as loudmouth Rangers sniper walks into killer one-liner

Rangers icon Ally McCoist has had the final say in his back and forth rivalry with outspoken pundit Jamie O'Hara.

The much-loved 58-year-old landed a killer blow on the former Tottenham star in the wake of the snipes aimed at the Ibrox side.

O'Hara caused outrage north of the border with his claims that Championship side Bournemouth would be a bigger job for Steven Gerrard.

The likes of McCoist and Celtic diehard Rod Stewart slaughtered the Billericay Town boss this week but the man who finished eighth in Celebrity Big Brother 2017 didn't appear to have had his confidence dented.

And the 33-year-old was back on the attack as he looked to land a blow on McCoist during Thursday;s talkSPORT breakfast show.

He said: "Ally didn't do it in England, he went to Sunderland and he flopped and he went back to Scotland.

"If he had the opportunity to sign for Bournemouth now, he would take take, he would take it and run."

But McCoist - whose legendary career was forged on deadly finishing - didn't miss the mark with his cutting response.

He replied: "I was hopeless in England and I was still better than you."

Laughter ensued before the Rangers legend reflected on why O'Hara's jibe had caused such a stir in Scotland.

He added:  "Having spent most of my life up here, I do appreciate more than most how raw some of the feeling can be.

"I think there was a period when (Scottish football) coming on the TV with Andy Stewart and the bagpipes, I felt that was a little bit over the top."
